3 Bedroom Bungalow Extension in Wrexham

This project was to extend a bungalow and make alterations to benefit a wheelchair user. The brief also required an additional bedroom and facilities for visiting family members.

The client originally requested an extension across the entire rear elevation of the building, however this would have created rooms with uncomfortable long, narrow proportions, so an extension creating an ‘L’ shape footprint was recommended.  This not only provided a better layout, but was a more pleasing aesthetic design.

The extension formed a kitchen, dining and family room, which has become a very popular requirement for modern living.  As the property benefitted from a large garden, corner bi-fold doors were added to the design which opened up the dining room into the garden, giving a great indoor/outdoor space. The property had a large drive with plenty of parking space which enabled the garage to be used as living space, the bungalow was widened and additional bathroom and bedroom space with an en-suite was created.

Alterations to the main house included widening doorways and handing doors to allow easier use of a wheelchair and the addition of a large en-suite to the master bedroom.
